Lady Bella, the radiant Golden Retriever who graced the bustling streets of the city with her gentle spirit and later found peace in the serene embrace of Naselle, Washington, passed away on August 4, 2023. She was more than a pet; she was a beacon of joy, kindness, and the embodiment of unconditional love.
Born under the dazzling city lights in 2010, Lady Bella brought warmth to the cold concrete of urban life for a decade. She danced through fall leaves in city parks, brought smiles to the faces of countless passersby, and patiently waited outside many coffee shops, receiving affection from admirers young and old.
For Lady Bella, the city wasn’t just a series of streets and tall buildings, but an ever-changing tapestry of smells, sights, and sounds. Every fire hydrant told a story, every park bench was an invitation to rest and watch the world go by, and every street musician's tune was a cause for a little tail wag.
In her retirement, Lady Bella moved to Naselle, where she swapped the city’s skyscrapers for towering evergreens and traded honking taxis for chirping birds. It was here that she discovered the joys of open fields, the thrill of chasing after wild scents, and the unparalleled comfort of resting under the vast starlit skies.
Survived by the Dawson family, who raised her from an energetic puppy to a wise, old soul, Lady Bella leaves behind a trail of memories that span both urban alleys and country lanes. The Dawsons are forever indebted to her for teaching them the art of living in the moment, finding joy in every situation, and loving without bounds.
A memorial service to celebrate Lady Bella's extraordinary life will be held at the Dawson's Naselle residence on August 12th. Friends, both two-legged and four-legged, are welcome. Instead of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to animal shelters in the city, a nod to Lady Bella's roots and the wish that every dog might find a loving home.
May Lady Bella's spirit forever roam the lively streets of the city and the peaceful meadows of Naselle, reminding us all of the beauty that life holds, no matter where we are.
