Karma Digby

Karma Digby, a beloved member of our family, embarked on her journey to the stars on January 28, 2021, in Buckeye, Arizona. Born on January 1, 2009, Karma brought light and joy to our lives in a way that only a precious canine can.

Karma's first days were marked by uncertainty. Rescued from the Maricopa County Animal Control Center, she arrived with a litter of pups, but through a twist of fate, found herself alone and in desperate need of love and care. She spent a long time in rescue with various fosters, but it was ultimately our family that welcomed her into our hearts and our home, making her our forever companion.

Karma had an extraordinary ability to connect with others; she never met a stranger. Although her appearance may have sparked fear and her breed carried a reputation often clouded by misunderstanding, those who took the time to know her found a heart bursting with love. Her gentle spirit welcomed anyone willing to give her a pat, leaving them with a smile and warmth.

This unique house hippo had her quirks—she adored sprawling out on the couch, blissfully snoring, and would oftentimes be found hobbling around the yard, soaking up the sun as she lay on the warm dirt. Despite being diagnosed with valley fever, nothing could dim her vibrant spirit or deter her from living the life she truly deserved.

Karma’s absence leaves a significant void in our lives, and she is missed dearly by everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. She will always be remembered for the joy and affection she shared, and the love she inspired in our family—shared by her mom, dad, and her brother, Razor and Sister Ariot.

Karma, you were more than just a pet; you were family. Your time with us was a precious gift, and your memory will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We love you, dear girl, and you will always be our cherished house hippo.
