Berto’s life didn’t start out happy. He was rescued by my sister from an over populated cage with his mate, Taco. They both had badly healed injuries , causing slight disability. Berto had a broken back, Taco broken feet. I adopted him from my sister after my 16 year old daughter was born. We gave him a happy home, and he was surrounded by love and joy while he was with us.
Despite what he had endured earlier in life: Berto always felt loved and appreciated with our family. We kept him stocked with his favorite snacks (apples, bananas, and sometimes Cheetos) had his radio on to his favorite station all day (he lived oldies and jazz, but also mom’s goth music) and during the warmer months, he lived near the big windows so he could talk and sing with outdoor friends. We love him so much and we miss him so dearly. He is survived by his mom, dad, two brothers, and sister. He is also survived by his two cat sisters. We miss his song, we miss his face. We will love you forever, old man Berto Beans.
